Year 3 spent their first half term examining the text “Gorilla” by Anthony Browne. They looked at the vivid illustrations and developed their understanding of how those images could give clues about character emotions that they may not find in the language. They then researched new language choices and improved descriptions using challenging, appropriate adjectives and expanded noun phrases. Through drama they developed and challenged dialogue choices and finally created their own setting and character descriptions. The results were fantastic.
