Dear Parents and Carers,
I’m delighted to be writing to you for the first time as the head teacher of White Mere Primary School. I can’t quite believe that we’re already at the end of the first week of term – it’s gone so quickly! The children have made a fantastic start to the new school year, especially those who are joining us for the first time. The atmosphere in school has been lovely, with lots of smiling faces and stories about the summer holidays. It’s been very nice to meet many of you on the yard and in school this week – I’ll be outside every day, so don’t hesitate to catch me and introduce yourself.
The staff have all been very busy getting the school ready for the start of term and I know they have been looking forward to getting to know both the children and yourselves. With this in mind, I’d like to give you the chance to get to know your child’s class teacher a little better and invite you to our ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings after school on Thursday 21st September. The meetings will last for about 15-20 minutes and take place in the classrooms. The teachers will be sharing information about the timetable and topics for their class, as well as giving you the chance to see your child’s classroom and ask any questions that you might have. The meetings will take place at 3.30pm and then be repeated at 4.00pm – that way, if you have children in different classes, you’ll still be able to meet both of their teachers.
Our after school clubs will be starting next week – Karate will take place on Tuesdays and Tennis on Thursdays. Unfortunately, Dance Club will not be starting next week as our previous dance teacher wasn’t able to offer the club when our hall was available. However, we are in touch with other providers and Dance Club will begin as soon as possible.
Next week I’ll be sending out a newsletter with information about the new school year and important dates for this half term, including news about music lessons and our Harvest Assembly.
If there is anything at all that you want to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
