Dear Parents / Carers
Recently, Year 4 have been studying how to write recount and report-based broadcasts. As part of this topic, we have arranged for the children to visit the Grainger Market in Newcastle on 30th November 2017. In the lead up, we will be writing a report about their upcoming Christmas market, asking open questions to market traders and enjoying a tour of the legendary venue.
The children will come into school as normal and will be registered in their classes before travelling to Newcastle via the Metro. The children must wear school uniform and we would advise they wear a sensible outdoor coat as some of the educational visit will take place outside.
We will be in Newcastle until roughly 2pm therefore children will need to bring a packed lunch. We will then travel back to school and should arrive back in time to be dismissed as normal at 3:20pm.
As there are various sweet shops within the venue a voluntary donation of £3 is requested to cover the cost of a special treat, as well as transport costs.
Please complete and return the reply slip to school as soon as possible.
If you have any further question please ask either myself or Mr Boddy.
